Whether its marital or pre-marital, counseling offers more improvement to relationships than the typical self-help book. I support many of these books, but they just can’t personalize to you and your specific issues with your spouse.
Too often, couples arrive too late to help their marriage. Sometimes, one partner “gives in” to make all the problems go away, only for them to come back. Still in other cases, one partner will not come because the other refuses to attend counseling. So come by yourself! Your spouse’s curiosity about what goes on without them may spur them to participate. And if not providing you with increased insight goes a long way to your knowing what is happening to your relationship.
