Employee Assistance Programs:
Some employers offer with the insurance they provide or make available to you what is called an Employee Assistance Program, often just referred to as an “EAP.” Check to see if your insurance provides this option and use it free of cost to you. EAP’s pay my fee without a co-pay to you. Most EAP’s will allow three to six visits with a counselor annually. Many employees don’t know this is available to them until a major crisis occurs and they ask. Some clients I work with drop in annually for their mental health checkup. Just thought more of you needed to know the help you’re thinking about may be easier than you know.
